Medicinal
Mushrooms

to supercharge your life

with Christopher Hobbs

Working with medicinal mushrooms shouldn’t be so confusing!

Mushroom products can seem complicated, even though they are some of the most effective and accessible forms of medicine – but most of us live in a fungi-phobic world.

We grow up eating white button mushrooms and are taught to steer clear of anything that doesn’t come wrapped in plastic. Fungi are often associated with rot, decay, and this fear is deeply rooted. As a result, people look to products that are over processed and removed from the source. Or maybe you’re thinking “yeah right, I love fungi, this isn’t my problem at all.” Still, as medicinal mushrooms go mainstream, experts seem to pop out of every corner with new products and conflicting advice abounds. Do you know how or IF these products even work? Can’t you make this medicine at home for a fraction of the price? At this point you have at least 3 bottles of reishi capsules gathering dust in the back of your cabinet and you know there’s a better way to engage in this medicine.

It’s time to get back to basics.

  • Get to know the plants (and fungi)
  • Make your medicine at home
  • Study traditional AND clinical uses of medicine
  • Surround yourself with students on a similar path
  • Stay motivated – what gets scheduled gets done!
To support you in this, I want to introduce you to my friend and inspiration to study medicinal mushrooms, Dr. Christopher Hobbs – here to help us become knowledgeable fungi-enthusiasts and experience the health benefits of fungi!

Author of the groundbreaking text, Medicinal Mushrooms (1995), and the award-winning “Medicinal Mushrooms, the Essential Guide”, Christopher Hobbs is one of the world’s leading experts in the use of medicinal mushrooms for health.

We couldn’t think of a teacher more qualified to help you gain this knowledge and provide support as you learn to bring mushrooms into your everyday life.

While you can learn pretty much anything on your own… nothing compares studying with a leading mycologist, author, and fourth generation herbalist.

And while standard online courses are great – a community-based program can go a step further. You can meet people, get answers to your questions, and reference class materials.

Medicinal Mushrooms to Supercharge Your Health will give you the practical knowledge and tools you need to incorporate mushrooms into your daily life—and supercharge your health!

The Amazing Healing Power of Fungi with Christopher Hobbs

Mushrooms grow abundantly in most habitats of the world. They are not plants or animals. They are classified in the Fungi Kingdom. In this class, you will learn about the life cycle of mushrooms — how they live, get their energy, and thrive in the environment. They have a crucial role to play in all living systems and form beneficial symbiotic relationships with plants and trees. Without the fungi, they could not grow and flourish. You will discover how fungi can play a vital role in healing our planet and how they are being incorporated into amazing building materials, used for soil restoration and purification of toxic soil and industrial sites.

Cordyceps: Natural History of a Perplexing Parasite with guest Daniel Winkler

In East Asia the healing power of Cordyceps is in the highest esteem, making Yartsa gunbu (Ophiocordyceps sinensis) the world’s most precious fungus at over $30,000 per pound, and accounting for 40% of rural income in Tibet. Every year in spring, Tibetans move to the grasslands to collect this tiny, elusive fungus that grows on the larva of ghost moths. Consequently, sustainability is of great concern, but new research explains its apparent resilience. Meanwhile, much of Western mainstream medicine is not even aware of Cordyceps. Likewise, there are hundreds of different Cordyceps species in the Americas, only recently respected as medicine. The neo-tropics are amazingly rich in bizarre Cordyceps species and Daniel, based on a dozen Mushroaming trips to South America, will introduce the most common and also some rare species, including some Cordyceps, not known yet to science.
