“One word to describe Charis Lindrooth, 'Amazing!' I have a few others, as well, 'Beautiful, clear, radiant!' Charis is not only an accomplished healer/herbalist, but she's a great organizer as well. Skilled at weaving and knitting community together, she's doing just that both online and with the MidAtlantic Women's Herbal Conference, creating a community of woman healers and herbalists." ~ Rosemary Gladstar
“I had the honor of speaking at MidAtlantic Women's Herbal Conference. I had a wonderful time! A sister conference to the North East Women’s Herbal Conference, it was filled with the same spirit of joy, laughter, love and inspiration that I've come to love at these women's gatherings. Charis and her team of amazing helpers have planted a bright and beautiful seed that is blossoming into an amazing garden of spirit." ~ Rosemary Gladstar (coming to the Allies for Plants and People Symposium in 2020!)
“Charis's faith in the healing power of plants, her dedication to building strong networks among women and her lively spirit are a great gift to all of us who cherish herbs." ~ Deb Soule
Before Charis stepped in and stepped up, Pennsylvania felt like an herbal desert. The Mid-Atlantic conference has invigorated the community and folks are meeting each other, and creating real connections. Charis has been the water in the desert and has brought it into bloom!" ~ Maia Toll
About Us and Our Gatherings
Our gatherings, Allies for Plants and People and the MidAtlantic Women’s Herbal Conference, were founded by Charis Lindrooth, DC, with the intention of providing a forum where plant wisdom can be shared and where like-minded people can connect and build a community to steward land, medicinal plants and supportive relationships with each other. The class offerings at these events are more than informational. They touch heart and soul, awakening the intuitive mind and weave a growing network of herbalists, healers and others with a desire to learn about sustainable health and stewardship of medicinal plants.
Inspired by the work of Rosemary Gladstar, David Winston, United Plant Savers, and many internationally acclaimed teachers and organizations in the herbal renaissance, these gatherings strive to create space for land and plant stewardship, with an inner mission to cultivate alliances between plants and people, and between people and people. We are grateful for all who participate in this expanding green movement that invites perspective on the transformation of modern health and health care in this country.
“Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better.” ~ Einstein
